My new book is called The Couple Next Door, the reason I chose this book was because i really like mystery books and it seemed really interesting. My book is about a couple that goes to their next door neighbors for a dinner party and they leave their 6 month old daughter home by herself and when they return their child is gone. There was no reason i picked this book other then the fact it was the first one i saw. im not really hooked yet because other then the fact that the daughter is gone nothing really exciting has happened yet.

DeleteI too picked a fiction book, I think that it was time to read something fun after reading so much realistic stuff. I wanted something that would keep me interested without getting too real. I also chose one of the first books I could think of when trying to decide. I have never read a mystery book, and would like to know if it is something that I should read in the future.
DeleteI really enjoy reading mystery's too. And I hope this book hooks you in soon. But the fact that parents leave their 6 months old daughter at home to go to a dinner party is in my opinion so unrealistic. What parents would do that?
Deletei am reading the book the batboy. it is a nonfiction book. i chose this book because it was about baseball and i really enjoy the sport baseball. i think the book is going to be really good because its about baseball and its the Detroit tigers which is my favorite baseball team. i am excited to continue reading this book.
ReplyDeleteI've already read this novel, and I thought it was one of the best books I've ever read, because it's about baseball and I enjoy anything about it. Although I will say that the Tigers are trash.

Deletei am reading the book Fallen Angels. It is a true story about a guys story of his time in Vietnam. I picked this book because i like war stories and i was in the library looking for a new book to read and this one was sitting on the shelf and i noticed it and just picked it out.So far the book seems pretty good and pretty easy to read. Im enjoying it so far.

DeleteI am starting to read The Kite Runner, I wanted to read this book because I read A Thousand Splendid Suns and I absolutely loved that book and this was another one of Khaled Hosseini's books!! My starting opinion of this book is kind of plain. The beginning is kind of slow and nothing really up beat has happened. I cant say I am hooked on this book yet! but I know that once it gets going I will be hooked because of the author!
ReplyDeleteAs someone who has read the book, I can tell you that the beginning is the worst part of the book, because it is so long and drawn out. Once you get past the beginning though, you will get hooked on the book very quickly. The biggest thing is just to keep reading, because it only gets better.

DeleteI am reading the book Prodigy and so far it is pretty good. In the book the main characters are Day and June. Day is the mot wanted criminal and June is one of the best soldiers around. June captures Day and is rewarded for it. While she interrogates Day she realizes how bad the government really is. She also finds out that the Government helped kill her family, so she helps Day escape. During the escape Day gets shot in the leg and now they are struggling to find help because they are both wanted criminals.

Deletei am reading the book perks of being a willed flower the main character is charlie. he is very observant he sound really smart but he is writing letters to a unknown person for some unknown i just asked the librarian what are some halfway decent easy to read books and this is what she set me up with

DeleteIts almost a twist ending that occurs, and it actually surprised me how the rest of the book plays out. You definitely made the right choice in choosing that book.

DeleteI chose The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams. It is a sci-fi book about aliens destroying the Earth. I chose the book because it is one of the books that Elon Musk recommended you read before you die. I thought I could read it, and it turned out that we had it in the library. I really like the book, because it has so many elements that I could have never imagined. Because of this, I am unable to put the book down unless I force myself to at the end of a chapter. One thing that I really love about the book is that it talks about people like an outsider looking in, like it is just learning about humanity like we learn about animals. It is oddly descriptive of people, and it does so in a third person point of view.

DeleteI've always wanted to read the book, because i heard that like you said, it has a strange way of writing about how humanity operates, and how little we are in the big picture of things. You'll have to finish the book quick because id like to read it next!
DeleteThis book seems pretty interesting, I wouldn't mind reading this book it sounds really sci-fi, and out there but I'm sure that if I started reading it I would get pretty into it. The author of this book would have to be very creative.
DeleteI decided to read the book “Killing Mr. Griffin” by Lois Duncan. I chose this book, because I wanted to read a crime and the title of this book sounds very thrilling. I think my book is going to be really good, because it already hooked me in in the very beginning. Some students are planning on kidnapping their English teacher and to scare him to get better grades. So far, the plan is working but the author talks about a huge change in the book that kills Mr. Griffin. So I'm really excited about what happens next.

DeleteFor my last book I am reading Charlie St Cloud by Ben Sherwood . I chose this book because I seen the movie and I really enjoyed it . The story is about Charlie St Cloud who was in a car accident with his younger brother Sam , he survived but Sam did not . He works at the cemetery where his brother is buried and can see , talk to and interact with his spirit . Charlie eventually meets a woman named Tess who shares his love of sailing. through the story they have to deal with a lot and make a lot of hard decisions . So far I enjoy my book and think I will like it as much as the movie .

DeleteThe book I am reading is Wonder the author is R.J. Palacio it's about a boy named August who was born with a deformed face and he had to have many surgeries. The reason I chose this book was because a lot of people talked about how good the movie was so I thought I would read the book first before I watched the movie. The process of getting this book was my mom recommending it to me. The start of the book was August telling his background story and how he was born. He also talks about people always staring at him when he is out in public. I am hooked to the book because he his one brave kid because he tries not to let anything bother him like when he started going to school and he knew there would be people staring and talking about him, but he still gave school a try and he is starting to really like it. I think this book was a good choice to read.

DeleteI have seen the movie, and it is a very inspiring! Once you finish the book, I recommend you to watch the movie. Its a great movie, and it really makes a person think about the way they treat others.

DeleteI am reading Where Things Come back by Corey Whaley, I've chosen this book because I thought it would be a good book to read knowing it has awards on it. The process was kind of hard because I'm not a big reader and i don't know what would be good for me or not. So far in the book in interested, it really got me hooked right when i started reading it. It starts off right away on her family and how things when downhill. I'm happy I picked this book even though ive never been a reader

DeleteI am reading the book Metro 2033 by Dmitry Glukhovsky. It's based in a post-apocalyptic Russia where the people have to live within the large and vast train tunnels underneath the surface of Russia. I found this book after being recommended it by a few people because there is a game based off the book with the same title. I found the games fantastic so I may as well read the books. So far it tells about the back story of a lot of things, settlements, people, gangs/factions, and the mutants that dwell on the surface and in the tunnels. I think its a great recommendation for most people, especially for those who like an immersive story and game. Theres also 2 other books in the series called Metro 2034 and Metro 2035.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a very interesting book. it makes you think about how we would handle a post-apocalyptic scenario and if we would do the same thing as they did. It sounds like a book id read i might have to give a chance one day.

DeleteI chose a book named Shipwreck Island, because I was looking for something with lots of conflict and sort of an adventure book. It's about two family's becoming one, because the dad lost his wife and is now going on a honeymoon to Figi with his new wife and kids. It pulled me in by having conflict right at the beginning, on how they were having troubles moving in together, and trying to get used to their new home. So far it has been an interesting book, and I look forward to reading this, as it is my last book.

DeleteI'm reading the book The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. The books about a 14 year old who gets murdered and she talks about how her family handles it and how she handles her new life in heaven. I chose this book because my friend recommended it to me and said that it was a really good book. The process on finding my book took awhile because my friend suggested a lot of different books before this one. I chose this book out of all the other books that she recommended because I like mystery and crime books which this book deals with. It starts out with her saying that she died but I'm already hooked on the book.

DeleteI am reading the book Johnny Got His Gun by Dalton Trumbo. It is about a boy who enlist in world war 2 after his fathers death. While in the war he has a terrible injury that removes him from the war. After he is removed it goes on as a narration from inside his head. I chose this book because it deals with the war and im a huge war fact/ book guy. In the beginning of the book its kinda weird but its starting to make sense.

DeleteI chose the book "A long Way Gone". I chose this book because last month I couldn't decide between this book and Kite Runner. I read Kite Runner last time, so I wanted to read the other one which is A Long Way Gone. The process was really easy because I knew I was going to read it after reading the Kite Runner. It didn't take me long to get hooked on this book. It jumped right in on how the "rebels" where shooting up villages. I think its super interesting trying to figure out why the rebels are acting this way. I am only 4 chapters into my book.

ReplyDeleteI chose the book For Whom the Bell Tolls by Ernest Hemingway because my dad recommended it to me and i also love Ernest Hemingways writing style. The book follows Robert Jordan, a Montana Spanish professor who is a dynamiter sent on a life or death mission to blow up a crucial bridge in the Spanish civil war. The book is very entertaining, and also educational in the ways of insulting each other in Spanish, and overall is a very good and interesting but hard book to read, with many very easily misunderstood portions.

I chose it because I read the preview on the book and it interested me also I've heard about the series before and wanted to read it but never got the chance too till now. I selected it from the library in the back of the room and it was convenient, and seemed interesting. Kind of a slow start but I'm sure it will pick up.
ReplyDeleteMy new book is called Fast Break. Its a book about basketball which is good because i like sports books. The main reason i chose this book is because Mike Lupica wrote it and i like most of his books. It did hook me because i like reading sports books. It starts off giving a background on the main character about his life and tells us why he likes basketball.

ReplyDeleteI am reading the book Friday Night Lights I was trying to find a book that I felt I would enjoy but all of them were to short, so I was given this book. This book is about football and being a team. I'm not very far into the book but it is very interesting so far. the town Odessa was voted 5th worst town to live in. But they have football which the town loves. The high school hosts the watermelon feed where everyone in the town comes to support the football team

DeleteI am reading the book To all the Boys I've Loved Before. I do like it so far, I'm not quite hooked but from what I have read it is good. I chose this book because my sister told me it was a good book and she has the book. A lot of stuff has happened in the first five chapters already. It explains how the mom passed away and the older sister was sort of like the mom.

DeleteI am reading the book The Last Song. I choose this book because I have read some other Nicholas Sparks books and choose to read this one next. It starts out with Ronnie going to spend the summer with her dad, who she hasn't seen in three years, and isn't to thrilled about going. So far nothing interesting has really happened.

I've learned about the main character Sam and she is one of the popular girls in school. I'm hoping this book turns out to be good

DeleteI chose the book The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. I chose this book because I plan on watching the movie but people always say that the book is better than the movie so I thought I would try reading first. The book started off kind of slow and explaining somewhat the reason of the name. I am hooked because it’s a love story from the past, so before technology took over society.
